The description on vimeo actually states he uses camera mapping, so the photo of the carpark is mapped onto simple 3D geometry like I am planning to do. The camera move is done within whichever 3D program he is using and the car is also animated once the balls start dynamically filling the scene from their emitter. The composite is good on this, with the glow the balls give out appearing on the ground etc - because the surroundings are camera mapped it allows light to bounce off the actual floor and walls within the 3D program.
Visually I like the juxtapostion of the dark grimy carpark with this slick obviously 3D elements reacting to it. This is something I want to get across in my idents.
