To get started I built the logo in cinema 4D and added a wood shader.
This bark texture is a series of 6 photos stitched together in photoshop, the grayscale version can be used for bump/displacement maps to add depth to the render.
Added the texture to the sides to make it look like the logo has been cut out of a Carhartt shaped trunk with fresh wood cut and bark around the edge. The clean wood is a quick preset from cinema 4D though it has the texture jpeg available to edit so I will edit some dirt into it and reduce the hyper-real CG look and help it sit in the shot better.
